ART-ENTREPRENEURSHIP BOOTCAMP
At Meraki, we believe in the power of creativity and entrepreneurship to transform lives. Our Artepreneurship Bootcamp is a testament to that belief – a transformative journey designed to empower women artisans with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in today's competitive marketplace.
During our immersive four-day program, participants dive deep into essential topics such as business planning, marketing strategies, financial management, leadership skills, and sustainable practices. Led by industry experts and seasoned mentors, our workshops provide hands-on learning experiences tailored to the unique needs of women artisans.
Phase 1
The inaugural phase of the Meraki Artepreneurship Bootcamp commenced with esteemed speakers who illuminated the path to entrepreneurial success. Priyanka Jain and Mr. Rahul Jain, Founders of Bizwiz Learning, shared invaluable insights into business fundamentals, setting a robust foundation for the participants. Aanya Wig, Co-Founder of Her Haq and LinkedIn’s Top Voice for Social Impact, inspired with her journey and provided invaluable guidance on leveraging entrepreneurship for social change. Additionally, Vidula Kamath, a distinguished Life Coach Entrepreneur, imparted wisdom on personal development and mindset, empowering participants to embark on their entrepreneurial journey with confidence and clarity. This dynamic lineup of speakers set the tone for a transformative and empowering Bootcamp experience.
Phase 2
The second phase of the Meraki Artepreneurship Bootcamp took participants on an enlightening field trip to Kamla Mahila Handicrafts, a women-led Art Enterprise. Led by the passionate founder, Shika, artisans were immersed in a rich learning experience covering essential topics such as raw material selection, product development, and diversification. Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, participants gained valuable insights into exploring market linkages and leveraging the role of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in fostering business growth. This visit not only provided practical knowledge but also inspired participants with the real-world success story of women entrepreneurs, fueling their aspirations and determination to succeed in their own ventures.
Phase 3
The third phase of the Meraki Artepreneurship Bootcamp saw participants put theory into practice as they applied the teachings of Ms Vidula in a hands-on workshop. Divided into two groups, artisans engaged in the collaborative development of business plans, execution strategies, and decision-making processes. Through interactive sessions and guided exercises, participants honed their presentation skills and received training on effectively articulating their business ideas.
The highlight of the phase was a dynamic Shark Tank-style presentation, where participants had the opportunity to pitch their business plans to a panel of judges. This immersive experience provided a platform for participants to showcase their creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurial vision, while also receiving valuable feedback and insights from industry experts. Overall, Day 3 was a testament to the participants' resilience, creativity, and determination to succeed as entrepreneurs.
Phase 4
On the fourth and final phase of the Meraki Artepreneurship Bootcamp, artisans had the opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit at Cafe Dehra Kettle. Meraki organised a stall where artisans proudly displayed their products, offering visitors a glimpse into the beauty and intricacy of their work. This platform not only provided exposure for the artisans but also fostered connections with potential customers and collaborators.
In addition to the stall, Meraki hosted a ticketed crochet workshop, where artisans shared their expertise and passion for the craft with eager participants. Through hands-on instruction and personalised guidance, visitors learned the art of crochet directly from the artisans themselves, gaining valuable skills and insights into traditional craftsmanship.
Overall, phase 4 was a celebration of creativity, skill, and community, highlighting the talent and resilience of women artisans. By providing a platform for showcasing their products and sharing their skills, Meraki empowered artisans to not only sustain their craft but also thrive as entrepreneurs in the vibrant marketplace.
